Conditions

A written promise from Hyundai Nishat Motor Limited to repair or replace a component of a vehicle that develops a fault due to material or workmanship within a fixed period of time.

Warranty Period
Any component, except the items specified hereafter, of your new Hyundai vehicle is covered for 48 months from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use, or 100,000 km, whichever occurs first.

Paint Warranty
Paint and surface corrosion warranty covers paint defects and/or other than perforation, such as cosmetic or surface corrosion due to defect in paint material or workmanship, for 24 months from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use, or 50,000km, whichever comes first.

OEM warranty
The tyre, battery, and audio navigation unit (AVN) are warranted by the respective manufacturers; for details, please see the related warranty condition card provided with the vehicle.

Obtaining warranty service

Authorized Hyundai distributors or dealers will provide warranty services without charging for parts or labor. Other than authorized Hyundai distributors or dealers, this warranty will not be valid for warranty services.

Judgement of warranty claims

Hyundai reserves the right to make final decision in warranty claims.

Exclusion of all other warranty

This warranty is given in place of all other warranties expressed or implied, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness which extends beyond the express description herein, and any other obligations on the part of Hyundai or the selling dealer. No dealer, agent or employee is authorised to extend or enlarge this warranty.

Repair or replacement of any component originally manufactured by Hyundai that is found to be defective in material or factory workmanship in normal use and maintenance, except any item specifically referred to in the section “What is not covered”.

Normal maintenance
This covers maintenance tasks including cleaning, polishing, checking, tightening, adjusting, lubrication, oil changes, engine tune-ups, fuel-system adjustments, wheel alignment, and balancing. It also includes replenishing various fluids (fuel, engine oil, transaxle, brake, clutch, power steering, battery electrolyte, anti-freeze coolant, windshield washer, air conditioner refrigerant) and tire rotation, except when these services are part of a covered warranty repair.

Normal deterioration or wear of any part, including:

  1. Spark Plugs
  2. Worn brack pads, linings
  3. Worn clutch linings/ Dics
  4. Wiper blade
  5. Filter
  6. Blub and fuses
  7. V-belt
  8. Other wear and consumable items

Any vehicle where the odometer mileage has been altered.

Any vehicle that has ever been declared a total loss, scrapped, or issued a “salvage” or similar title or certificate under any applicable law. This includes, but is not limited to, vehicles that are currently or were previously titled “scrap,” “rebuilt,” or “dismantled.”

Consequential damages and failure resulting directly or indirectly from any of the following:

  • Negligence of proper maintenance as required in the Owner’s Manual. (recommended periodic maintenance not carried out timely from an authorized Hyundai dealership).
  • Misuse, abuse, overload, accident, theft, water flooding, or fire.
  • Use of improper or insufficient fuel, fluids, or lubricants.
  • Use of parts other than Hyundai Genuine Parts or parts of non-equivalent quality and design.
  • Any device and/or accessories not supplied by Hyundai.
  • Modification, alteration, tampering, or improper repair.
  • Water contamination.
  • Deterioration of rubber parts, upholstery, and soft trim under normal use and exposure.
  • Slight irregularities not recognized as affecting the quality of the function of the vehicle or parts, such as slight noise or vibration, or items considered characteristic of the vehicle.

Tires:

Battery:

Standard 12 Volt Battery (except HEV)

(See separate battery manufacturer’s warranty.)

Incidental or consequential damages associated with a vehicle failure, including without limitation loss of time, inconvenience, cost of transportation, fuel, travel, rental expense, storage charges, telephone calls, food & lodging, loss of personal or commercial property, loss of pay or revenue, and loss of use of the vehicle, are not covered under this warranty.

Others:

  • Airborne “fallout”, industrial fall-out, acid rain, salt, hail, sand storm, and other Acts of God.
  • Paint scratches, dents, or similar paint or body damage.
  • Action of road elements (sand, gravel, dust, or road debris) that result in stone chipping of paint and glass.
  • Any paint defects or problems arising out of the cargo compartment. (Trucks only)
  • Rodents or any other damage not resulting from defects in materials or workmanship.
  • Proper use, periodic maintenance, and care of your vehicle in accordance with the instructions contained in your Owner’s Manual. (If your vehicle is subject to use under severe driving conditions, you should follow the maintenance requirements specified accordingly in your Owner’s Manual.).
  • Retain maintenance service records; it may be necessary for you to show that this required maintenance has been performed, as specified in the Owner’s Manual.
  • Deliver the vehicle during regular service business hours to any authorized Hyundai dealer to obtain warranty service.
  • Check for trim, paint, or other appearance concerns at the time the new vehicle is delivered.

What is covered

Repair or replacement of Hybrid System components listed below, originally manufactured or installed by Hyundai, that are found to be defective in material or factory workmanship under normal use and maintenance, except any items specifically referred to in the section “What is not covered.”

Warranty period

The Warranty period for the following Hybrid System components is limited to 4 years from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use or 100,000 km, whichever occurs first.

Hybrid system

  • Hybrid Starter & Generator
  • Hybrid Power Control Unit
  • Traction Motor

High-voltage battery

The high-voltage battery capacity warranty coverage period for a hybrid vehicle is 8 years from the date of retail delivery or date of first use, or 160,000 km, whichever occurs first.

Owner’s responsibilities

Your responsibilities are the same as those described in Hyundai New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

What is not covered

Items not covered by this warranty and any exclusion or limitations relating to this warranty are the same as those set forth in the “What is Not Covered “section of the Hyundai New Vehicle Limited Warranty already described in this handbook.

The high-voltage Voltage Battery will experience gradual energy or power loss with time and use. Loss of battery energy or power over time or due to or resulting from battery usage is NOT covered under this Hybrid System Limited Warranty. Damage to the battery resulting from the following activities is also not covered under this Hybrid System Limited Warranty:

  • Physically damaging the battery, intentionally or unintentionally attempting, either by physical means, programming, or other methods, to change/alter/extend (other than as specified in the Owner’s Manual provided with the Vehicle at the time of first retail purchase) or reduce the life of the battery.
  • Exposing the battery to direct flame (excluding battery fires as specified above) or any other external element/factor.
  • Incidental & consequential damages not covered in warranty are the same as those described in the ‘What is not covered in warranty section’.
